While the virtual doorman concept is pretty cool, it's just more secure having a real person monitoring your NYC coop . That way, in case of an emergency situation, someone is there to help.
New York City has thousands of co-ops but it seems that often the concept of cooperative living is quickly forgotten. I do not intend to preach commune style living, but rather look at a few simple ways in which neighbors can share resources and save on costs.
